COVID CRISIS

During this virus crisis, we must listen to the health authorities and protect ourselves and our families. Please note that the suggestions below are not medical advice. These are culled from public health information. Please go to the CDC website for detailed information (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html)

Please speak to your doctor/health professional using virtual care (phone/video conferencing etc). for patient-specific advice

Here are some of the minimal things that you should do:

  1. Stay home. Do not go out from your home unless you are an essential worker or must go to pick up medications or food.  Remember that your actions/inactions impact others and may reduce/enhance the transmission of COVID 19. We are in this together as a World community of Human beings.
  2. When you are in any public environment (e.g. food or drug store) wear a mask and gloves to reduce transmission to/from others.
  3. Wash your hands with soap and water often. Use hand sanitizer when soap is not available.
  4. Physically distance from others - greater than 2 meters or 7 feet at all times.
  5. Do not meet/socialize/dine with people who do not live in your home, even extended family (or family that does not live with you).
  6. The percentage of people with Corona virus and no or minimal symptoms is unknown and may be quite high (50%). People who have the disease and no or minimal symptoms can pass the disease to others through talking and close proximity.
  7. Corona virus can cause serious health issues and death in all ages, but is likely to be more serious in patients who have pre-existing health problems and older age.
  8. Clean surfaces that may be touched regularly with anti-viral wipes (Clorox, Lysol etc) to reduce spread through contact with potentially contaminated surfaces.
  9. During this virus crisis, the importance of Health and Family has been pushed to the forefront for us and our community – Stay Home, Stay Safe so that we can all live another day.
